Welcome By-Godders to the Friday edition of the Shotgun/Throwdown, brought to you today by "The Banquet Beer," Coors.
The sponsors have had an international flavor throughout the week, so I thought I'd go domestic for today. Plus, Coors just sounds so cool when spoken by one of the greatest western character actors ever, Sam Elliott. I can hear him now: "COO-ers." I hope everybody's been enjoying the show so far this week, but your input is needed to keep things fresh. On with the show after the jump:

Huggins in Good with Nation's No. 7 Hoopster - eersports.com
West Virginia coach Bob Huggins has the Mountaineers in good position with star recruit Tobias Harris.
Huggins spoke in Wheeling - The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register
Amusing tidbit from the story:
Huggins told a story of how Jennings, a forward at 6-foot-8, 265 pounds, was urged by WVU's strength coach Andy Kettler to take up boxing in an effort to improve his footwork around the basket. ''After Danny knocked (redshirt junior forward) Cam Thoroughman out with one punch to start the boxing class, no one would get into the ring with him,'' Huggins said. ''So I'm not sure if it helped his footwork or not.''

Miss Throwdown:
Today's Miss Throwdown goes by the name Alexa and she is special because you can tell she's smart, just by looking at her. Click on the pic for a gallery.
Sadly, I have no video of Alexa to go along with the pic and gallery, so I'm offering this gallery of "College Football's Hottest Fans" presented by YepYep as a mea culpa. By the way, based on evidence presented in the picture below, the correct pronunciation is now Okla (pause) Homa. As usual, the picture leads to the promised land. Thus ends my first week helming the Shotgun/Throwdown. I hope I haven't disappointed. Have a great weekend! See ya Monday.
