What's in Your Wallet?

Nothing earth-shattering happened over the weekend (other than fall camp opening, of course, and I'm sure you're already tired of hearing about that), so how about a Monday morning smattering of various newsworthy nuggets from around Mountainner nation:

  • I've heard a few rumors that the Capital One Bowl may be an option if the Big East and Gator Bowl go their separate ways.  Yes, the COB currently features an SEC team v. a Big 10 team (I think it's SEC #4 v. Big 10 #3 off the top of my head), but if the Gator can put together a package (read: piles of money) that the SEC considers worthy, the conference may elect to jump out of its current negotiations with the COB and head to Jacksonville, leaving a void for the Big East in Orlando.  I've had some great times in Jacksonville, but honestly, I'd prefer the Capital One and its greater prestige and, yes, better location.
  • Pat White had a pretty good first scrimmage with the Dolphins, going 10 of 19 with a TD.  I can't wait to watch Pat this year in the NFL.  Something tells me he's going to be a dynamic player for the Fins.  Maybe that something is the fact that he was unbelievable for 4 years at WVU, I dunno.  Yes, it's going be a little bittersweet not seeing him at WVU.  It's almost like seeing your ex girlfriend out with her new squeeze.  Except this time the new squeeze is someone way more important and who makes a lot more money than you do, so you really can't be all that mad.
  • More after the jump.

Star-divide

  • CFN.com ranked Noel Devine as the nation's 75th best player and Reed Williams as the nation's 96th best player, behind such superstars as Southern Miss RB Damion Fletcher, Notre Dame WR Golden Tate, and Boise State CB Kyle Wilson.  Congrats Noel and Reed, that's a huge honor to be named in the same sentence as those household names.
  • Mallory Rubin of CNNSI.com thinks Jarrett Brown has some big shoes to fill as Pat White's replacement this year.  Mallory also recently posted articles warning Americans of the danger of the Swine Flu and extolling the virtues of cap & trade.  Way to work those original angles, Mallory.
  • Offensive Coordinator Jeff Mullen plans to install the offense during the first five days of camp.  Considering it takes most freshman at least a semester and half to learn how to use the PRT correctly, that doesn't exactly make me optimistic about Geno Smith running the offense if Jarrett Brown goes down with an injury.
  • Of all the freshman not named Tavon Austin, the coaching staff is most excited about new cornerbacks Pat Miller and Broderick Jenkins.  I know we can sorely use some depth in the defensive backfield, but with all the hype surrounding Geno Smith, Logan Heastie and Chris Snook on offense, the coaches' reaction either means Miller and Jenkins are really really good or that the offensive crew, uh, still has a ways to go.
  • And no, Tevita Finau isn't in Morgantown, yet.

Just personal taste...

Could you not have picked a hotter cheerleader?

She was the CNNSI.com Cheerleader of the Month

And I figured Andrea Bianchi and Lara Benninger had been overdone. Well, to the extent that those two CAN be overdone. My sincerest apologies.

Your nuts

That little lady is cute hot. That’s a whole different bread of hot.

Citrus Bowl (I hate corporate names) pits the sec 2 and big 11 2. But lately this hasn’t worked out because both leagues have been sending 2 teams to BCS bowls.

For The Record

I reviewed her other pictures on the “Cheerleader of the Month” feature. And this is the best one, by far. If she wasn’t a cheerleader, she would be very average.
