This Is Dayton's Mascot
Usually, a calvalcade of witticisms would stream from my conciousness after seeing a picture like this, but I'm simply drawing a blank. I want to make fun of this guy -- I really do -- but he's just so stupid, I can't properly do it.
I mean, our mascot carries a loaded gun. Dayton's wears a jumpsuit with a belt. Not quite as intimidating.
Please, help me out here: make fun of this man.

Is he wearing a cape?
Why does a pilot need a cape? This makes me think that Dayton’s mascot is a special-ed student who thinks he can fly and not a pilot/flyer.

That is Rudy Flyer.
Dayton is the birthplace of aviation, or so we were told when I was a student at UD back in the day. The Wright brothers built their Flyer in Dayton, but flew it in North Carolina. Dayton is also the home of the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB.
Anyway, I just thought I should pop in to clear up your questions. Don’t underestimate Rudy!

Be careful with the Bison. Y’all had a little trouble with them a couple years back.

Yeah, this irony has been noted here in Kansas
These Bison seem a bit tamer than the last batch.

I'll say he's a Rudy Flyer alright!
This year’s Rudy Flyer felt like the addition of the even bigger codpiece under his flight suit evened things out with his super giant foam head. It would be the only time that he would have reason to use the words super, giant, foam, and head in the same sentence ever again.
Question 2?
Does he purposefully use the belt to hold his fake snake in a left-leaning erect position?
Honestly, last one...it's just such a funny mascot
Obviously his head isn’t the only giant foam part of his uniform; otherwise, he’d need a bigger belt to hold that faux-rection in place.
A Freakish Blue Nightmare
With a mascot like this, the phrase “CRASH AND BURN” comes easily to mind.
