Still Holding Out For A #1 Seed

6 seed. The Big East, this season, is the strongest conference in the history of college basketball. Just ask ND and Georgetown. Two teams w/ great rosters who didn’t get it done because of their in conference woes. WVU SHOULD be a 4 seed and will play like it. It WILL NOT be an upset (if we first beat Dayton) if WVU beats Kansas to go to the Sweet 16. I am VERY satisfied that WVU doesn’t have to play a team called Louisville, PITT, UCONN, or Syracuse in the next couple of rounds. This season, the top 7 teams in the Big East beating a number 1 team from another conference WOULD NOT be considered an upset, excluding one scenario…..WVU beating UNC (that would be an upset, and only b/c of the youth of WVU, not the talent disparity, which isn’t that great).

WVU hoops fans should be very excited for this tourney and especially for the upcoming seasons w/ these young frosh’s growing before our eyes. Even guys like John Flowers, who have historically had minimal to no impact thus far in the program, look like they’re getting more and more comfortable. Feel confident in WVU’s draw in this tourney and would LOVE a revenge match against Louisville for the right to the Final 4…..Would be sweet revenge for the ’05 “meltdown” after being up by 20.
