The Shotgun/Throwdown: Friday (12/18/09) Edition

Ab_laylabeer_label_217x260_medium

Welcome, By-Godders, to the Shotgun/Throwdown, WVU's best place for sports links, information and a bit of entertainment.  Today we're being brought to you by Layla Dirty Blonde Lager in honor of today's Miss Throwdown.

The men and women both get back into action tomorrow as basketball gets back into the swing of things all around the country.  There's a full slate of BE ranked teams in action.  Football starts practice again for the bowl tomorrow as well, which means news there should pick up a bit next week.  If you're anywhere where snow is being called for, stay warm and be careful if you have to go out.  There's plenty to keep you warm in this edition.  Suggestions and requests are always encouraged.  Have a safe and great weekend!!!  Let's GOOOOOOOO...........

Mountaineers!!

I’m not going to lie. My relationship with Marisa Miller is being seriously tested by Bar…

Leave no doubt tonight! Leave no doubt tonight! No doubt! They shouldn't of played the Old Gold'n Blue.

Recruiting Decommit

I saw on The Sporting News this morning that Pahokee DT Richard Ash has switched his commitment from WVU to Michigan. I wonder if this has anything to do with Doc and JaJuan Seider going to Marshall.

from what I've read, no

It has more to do with the assholes up north negative recruiting us. Ash took an official up there as soon as he committed to us. There seems to be a pointed effort up there to go after every single one of our offers. I’m not being paranoid or obsessed with our former coach/staff, this is coming from those in the know. And because of this, those (staff) up there will likely never be welcomed back to Morgantown anytime soon.

Pat Forde is an

IDIOT, picking FSU 35, WVU 34. He’s crazy. Yeah they might want to send Bowden off on a good note but thier D is terrible. And by what I saw of their frosh QB during the Florida game, he’s nothing to worry about either. Especially the way our D has been playing of late. Christian Ponder may have made it a little closer but still don’t think they’d get the W.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
