Around SBN: Off Tackle Empire interviews Rich Rodriguez

Three Vol freshmen, including heralded Nu'Keese Richardson, were arrested for armed robbery outside of a Knoxville convenience store. You have the entire world by the tail and you decide to hold up a store with a pellet gun? Really?

The even dumber thing about it...

Is that they were wearing Tennessee gear while committing the act….in Knoxville…

They get extra credit for wearing tshirts that only the football players have. What did it say on said shirts you ask?

“Nothing is Impossible”

I like the public comments of the Vol fan who got robbed as well:

“I think they should still be able to play football, regardless. Tennessee is my place. It’s my football team,” Corey B. Zickefoose, 20, told WATE-TV in Knoxville. “Even after they put a gun in your face, you say let them play football?” reporter Harlow Sumerford asked.

“Yeah, it’s Tennessee. That’s the way it is sometimes,” Zickefoose said.

Anyone have a guess on how hard this one is going to hit their program in the long run given that it just lost three of its best recruits from last season?

These guys would make 50 Cent proud.

Their getaway car was a Toyota Prius. Damn, these guys must really be from the streets. Pellet guns and Priuses are about as hard as it gets.

Marvin Graves was driving the getaway car

At least wait until you’re on the road…robbing your own fans is just tacky

Bill Stewart was arrested today, too, for robbing mountaineer football of excitement. Police reports indicate that during the course of the armed robbery he did not leave any bullets in the holster, and had his bayonet fixed for a forced march.

But seriouly, take off your white wig and atop judging people, Charley. Who hasn’t been in the situation where armed robbery doesn’t sound like a good idea. Shoot, I thought about knocking off a dairy mart this very morning. But I was too much of a coward to do it. These kids showed courage, determination and a plan. Their trailblazing spirit should be applauded. Yet here you sit criticizing thei ingenuity, resourcefulness and out of the box thinking.

Armed Robbery? No

Assault (with a deadly weapon optional)? Every goddamned day.

All I know is......

that the Willey St. Dairy Mart is “worth robbing”, especially for their freshest meatball strombolis in town after midnight……THAT is a Morgantown institution.

BTW, you guys on this blog are STILL talking about football??

I second that. Nothing like being 19, staying with a friend across the street in courtyard apts, and stumbling over there for a stromboli after getting drunk in the middle of the day Saturday. Times were simpler back in 2004

that was great

I have the A-Team theme song in my head right watching this
