FYI this is one big reason why a lot of fans aren’t crazy about Billy. It’s called image. Our national profile took a big hit as soon as he was hired. Unfortunately for Bill he plays directly into the old hillbilly stereotype.

W’s and L’s. Win the games and the image takes care of itself.
Unfortunately
with the current system it matters.
It’s particularly bothersome with what Huggs is doing with the Bball program and how our football program was a media darling only a couple of years ago.
Then Stew says things like “I don’t want to be ranked” and it gets under my skin.

that "I don't want to be ranked" comment
has been taken out of context and twisted around so many times it’s unbelievable. Of course he wants to be ranked. It was said in the context of the guys last year reading too many of the headlines and thinking they were better than they were.
Regardless
It was a stupid thing to say.
He talked that team up more than anyone else that summer, by the way.

….but that guy is a smart-ass on par with Dennis Miller…smart-ass only gets you so far, and it was way cooler somehow in the 80’s. My point being, coming with witty barbs is a whole lot easier than actually having substance.
Cover?
Beamer, what do mean cover? None of our DB’s can cover anyone anywhere. If we can pull a win out of the hat tomorrow night, it will be at the end of a shoot out.
