TSM Coaching Approval O'Meter (Post-Marshall, 2009)
It took us eight different polls, but the post-Syracuse edition of TSM's Coaching Approval O'Meter produced our first consecutive raise in fan satisfaction. It also produced our highest in-season approval rating at 90%. Will the post-Marshall rating be higher? It will be interesting, as there are a few factors to consider:
- Played 95% of the game without Jarrett Brown.
- Cody Slate is still open.
- Held nation's 2nd leading rusher to well under 100 yards.
- Blue shirt/sweater vest combination lacked adequate water resistance.
So, please vote and let us know what you, the fan, think of the current coaching regime. And, as always, expand on your opinions in the comments.

Reason being, I think maybe the players were shocked that Brown went down that early, and the coaches scrambled to figure out what to do with Geno. Can’t remember how long we had the ball in the first half but it wasn’t very long and Noel didn’t have very many touches. Second half the defence shut the run game down and Marshall was forced to pass. I know our secondary isn’t going to stop everyone, but they did a really good job other than Slate getting that long pass that was reviewed. I thought it was a gutsy call to go on 4th and ten in the cold and rain with a true fresh but it turned out ok. And wow what a throw to Arnett in the endzone, not only was it a good throw but great catch.

Hard to pick a simple yes or no
Yet another week went by, and I was still screaming at my tv. Ball control still an issue, STUPID (I wish there were bigger, bolder caps for that word) penalties that proved costly at times, and for at least part of the game, what appeared to be a lack of drive and motivation.
All year, I’ve heard many point the blame in many different directions—“It’s JB’s fault, no it’s Stew’s fault, no it’s the secondary’s fault, no it’s RR’s fault for recruiting some of these guys.” I just can’t see how blame for mistakes can be placed on any one individual. We win as a team, we lose as a team, but most importantly, we play as a team.
First half was pitiful, but we made the necessary changes and flushed the turd like we needed (and were supposed to). So I will have to approve.
Why do y'all make this harder than it has to be.
I will yell every week during the game. It is rare that any team plays a perfect game.
Overall, are you happy with our performance and of the fact that we are 5-1. I am, so I voted YES.

I agree
And maybe that was where I was headed after my pointless babbling. I’ll admit, after the Auburn game, I was one of those looking for a place to point my finger. But in reality, there is no one to blame. Every game there is a winner and there is a loser. Unfortunately, we can’t always be the winner. I wish that weren’t the case, but it is what it is.
I voted yes, and it did take me a couple of weeks to figure out that I was frustrated over nothing. We have a top 25 team. And I believe Stew has shown his true colors in regard to the UConn tragedy. Would anyone have expected dickrod to even acknowledge something like that even happened?
Sorry for the confusion…..
Good answer.
HCBS didn’t make it easy on himself at times to be accepted by the general public. I think events of this season, at least so far, have started to turn to the tide squarely in his favor.

ANOTHER TRAP GAME
GREAT. I hate to say it, but we are up against the wall this week. Another home game against an inferior opponent who will be hanging it all out there. I get the feeling that if Tebow’s crazy bad concussion enabled him to play against LSU then JB might have a good chance. However, Daddy Stew will probably not want his boy harmed any further.
Even with JB's concussion...
WVU is a touchdown favorite.

Tebow also had a week off.
I don’t think there is any doubt that JB will want to play this week but I don’t think HCBS should let him. As everyone has figured out by now, I have had numerous head injuries and it takes a while for you to be 100%.
Better safe than sorry.

The first half was bad offensively, but the defense kept it together. They were hoping in a rainy game with their backup QB they could just run the ball to victory. That wasn’t working because Marshall wasn’t respecting the pass. They made a good adjustment to let Geno throw the ball, and it worked out. Not pretty, but a win is a win. Therefore I approve of the coaching staff.

Oh my, people are pleased and hardly anyone wants to fire the coach.
