How Exactly Would You Define Helmet-to-Helmet?
I am only curious because, according to Saturday's officiating crew, this doesn't quite meet their definition:

Guy on left
Looks like he was leading with his helmet. However, an open field tackle such as this, it is hard to call helmet to helmet because you have let defenders make a tackle. You want to see what you hit.
That being said, if the guy on the left came into the tackle second it should of been called helmet to helmet because you don’t have to put you helmet directly into a players ear hole.

All day long
Was it just me and my biased view of the blundering turds, or were they head-hunting all day? Even my wife, who is not the most football-savvy individual in the world, was complaining about late hits and cheap shots.
Totally agree...
There were multiple times when Geno and Devine ran that they were diving in like missles leading with their helmets. They played dirty all day and mostly got away with it.
TE 16 was one of the dirtiest players I have seen in my life. He was consantly blocking after the whistle and laying on the pile to talk shit. He also held on just about every run.
When you are Marshall you have to try and win some way. Their goal was to hurt all our players in an attempt to win. “We are … A commuter school.”

I don’t know who this joker was, but there was a play where we recovered a fumble. Our guy was laying on the turf, got up, and this ass clown came and laid a shot on him from a full sprint. Granted, he didn’t get very far with his actions, but he also didn’t even draw a second look.
I still can't believe
the blatant and impossibly unintentional disregard for mu’s OL holding on virtually every pass play and a number of outside runs as well.
No excuse for officiating that poor.

C-USA crew
They had no clue what was going on all day. Missed multiple illegal shifts, a delay of game, holding and face masks on Marshall.
I have never seen HCBS more fired up on the sidelines. He may have yelled more than me during the first half.

Exactly....!
I was pulling my hair out through the first half. And don’t get me started on the facemask penalty, no where in evidence in replay, that kept their one scoring drive alive.
And, for the record, Danny Kannel sucks at color commentary almost as he sucked at being an FSU quarterback.

did you see....
There was one series where there was a 3rd and 14 situation. Offsides called, flag thrown, play continues. No gain, incomplete pass. Penalty accepted. The zebra signals first down!!!!!
Or how about the one where the terds actually made a really nice catch, and they had to challenge the call in order to get it right. The half-brained zebra said, “The call on the field has been confirmed that it was a catch, first down.” Wasn’t the original call on the field incomplete.
Just clueless…..
My exact quote from the latter exchange:
“No, replay confirmed that you’re a jackass.”

That was a BIG EAST Crew
5thYear …..It was the Big East officials that continued to underachieve.

Are you sure?
I thought visiting OOC teams brought its conference officiating crew.

Absolutely right
It was a Big East crew. I thought the OOC team broght the officials but it was a Big East crew. In fact it was the same damn crew that called 3 helmet to helmet his in the first game.
What are you gonna do?

Refs were terrible
Just go to msnsportsnet.com. photo gallery of the game and on the second page bottom left picture where Julian Miller has the QB wrapped up. Look and the MU’s O-lineman’s hand on Zac Cooper. Looks like a hands to the face call to me.
