TSM Coaching Approval O'Meter (Post-Syracuse, 2009)

22698113_medium

Through the summer and four games (Colorado being the last), Bill Stewart & Co. have averaged a somewhat healthy 79% approval rating.  Probably low for a coach that is now 4-1, but then again, probably high for a coach that has as little skill and intellect as Bill Stewart (yes, my tongue and cheek have met).

This week, we saw the Mountaineers breeze through Syracuse, winning an unprecedented eigth straight against the Orange.  Chances are, based off a 27-0 first half, the approval rating will go up.  But how far up?

Make sure to vote and have your opinion heard.  Also, please leave all comments and curses in the designated comments section.

Are these from Marshall and Pitt fans trying to be funny or are some of you unhappy at our 4-1 start?

What is full approval?

I was trying to figure out what would be a realistic version of 100% approval rating? Obviously, it’s not going to be 100%, because people will simply not be happy ever, for some reason or another. It’s kind of like full employment not being 100% — there are simply some people that will not get a job, even if one is available to them.

If you notice...

…when times are bad, people are very quick to vote no and post their reasons. Now, when times are relatively good, they vote no and don’t say a word. Cowardly? Surely not from this group of optimistic, fun-loving people.

It does make me laugh.

I have a feeling even the harshest critics find it hard to click no these days. Although, one close game will make them smile again.

My track record

I don’t bash Coach Stewart or any of the coaches, unless their is a reason to.

Yes, we can be disappointed that the team is not 5-0 as they should be, but I don’t see how we can lay blame on that loss on the coaches, with the exception of some of the play calling.

I like the way HCBS has kept the program from going down hill so far, and has been bringing in the better recruits.
You have to give the guy time, and it appears he’s not as bad as many want to think of him as.
