Welcome Back, Jumpman

It's been awhile since we used the Jumpman label, but over the last two games, Joe Alexander has certainly earned it. Just a monster effort.
10-16 FGs, 12-16 FTs, 32 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 1 win over Pitt
It really just doesn't get much better than that.
Tonight was a huge step towards making the tournament. Right now, assuming we beat St. John's, I believe we are on the right side of the bubble. Beat St. John's and win one game in the tournament and we're looking more at a 7-8 seed.

I’ve been waiting to watch a game like that for a long while…

I would rather be a 10 seed than an 8 or 9 seed. Better chance to make the Sweet Sixteen. Better yet, why dont we just let them drop us to a 12 seed and let us play Drake in the first round. Now that would be a blood bath. Alexander might drop 45 on them.

If Alexander keeps this up, we can hang with just about anybody on a neutral floor.

The key to Alexander’s success is he is working close to the hoop with jumpers mixed in as opposed to jumpers with a couple layups mixed in. Give me Alexander with his back to the basket, none of that facing up his man at the 3-point line jab stepping until the ball is knocked away.

Alexander is playing at his highest level now. Inside out, shot fakes, and playing against the trees underneath.
Now if we can just get some big help from the rest. WVU could make a strong run.

I agree. Joe’s been on fire, but he’s also creating mismatches for the defense too.
I’d much rather see us as a 7,10, 11 or 12 seed in the NCAA’s. The 8 vs. 9 game is a dreaded one in my opinion. I’d rather play a #1 seed somewhere down the line like in the Sweet 16 or Elite Eight.
