That Sound You Hear? Me Yelling "Holy Shit!"

Tonight, the CBH-led Mountaineers host the #9 ranked Georgetown Hoyas. A tall task, indeed. Well, apparently not all that tall as the Mountaineers are a 2.5 point favorite. Well color me surprised -- and Caucasian. But mostly surprised.
We'll be back later today with a full preview of this prime-time, nationally-televised, awesomely-awesome game. It'll be rad, or whatever the kids are saying these days.

Was Roy Hibbert murdered? Did Jamie Smalligan morf into Michael Jordan? Am I all hoppped up on crazy pills?
We haven’t looked good in weeks. How are we favored?
Despite my skeptisism, I’ll be at the Coliseum for 9 hrs tomorrow.

Most players would simply morph into another player. Jamie Smalligan? Nay. He must do it his own, unique, Special Olympics participant way. Hence “morf.”

I think the word outta Morgantown was that Huggins was suiting up tonight and was gonna be the 6th man off the bench, hence, the Eers are the favored.

The line is now -3. WTF? Who was betting on WVU to make the line go up?
by Country Roads on Jan 26, 2008 1:14 PM EST reply actions
May not be that people are betting on WVU, just that Vegas wants more people to bet on Georgetown. Maybe Vegas knows something. Vegas is rarely wrong. Usually when you see a WTF line like this it is best to bet against the conventional wisdom.

WVU should win this game pretty easy, unless the refs take control of the game. Georgetown is not as good as they were last year. It’s been proven that you can push the team around this year. That is why WVU needs the refs ‘let ’em play’. If that happens, WVU wins by 10.

The MU spread was very strange as well, we were favored by 14, probably not as big as a surprise as today’s spread though.

While we didnt exactly cover the MU spread there is no question that we would have covered had we been able to hit a free throw. Also, the refs had a little something to do with that as well. Vegas would have been right on that one without those unpredictables.
