Hope Springs Eternal

Today...today is a new day. I have a new lease on life. I am seeing things clearer. Daisies are pretty.

Seriously, I'm feeling better. The sting is starting to fade, though I will always carry a piece of that game with me -- just like 1996 Miami. Either way, it's time to move on. It happened, there's nothing I can do to change it, and no amount of sulking is going to make it any better. So, after a few more looks at the game -- coming later this morning -- we will close the book on Pitt.

Oklahoma, you're on notice.

I was worried about you guys. Ferreals.

Hope indeed springs eternal. You are a Mountaineer fan. You like that people think we’re scrappy, we never get the amount of respect we should, and we’re the spiritual underdog. And we’ve still got that and a deep well of talent on our side. As the Red Sox said for decades “there’s always next year,” only we have it even better. We only have to wait a month.

Sleep well, young hellraiser. Sleep well.

the only thing that kept the noose from my neck was remembering the list of seniors that ran onto the feild at the begining of the game. While Owen and Mundy will be very hard to replace, we are still going to be awsome next year.

Lets remember it is only a game. Although having such a good time tailgating, I hardly expected for my good time to end that night. The last time I heard the stadium go that quiet at or near the end of a game was when Miami’s Tremain Mack blocked our punt a few years ago. I hate to say it, but the Fiesta bowl means little to me now, since I had that Championship taste in my mouth. Hopefully I and the team get hungry before then. I somewhat blame RR a tad. He always talked about winning the Big East and that was their only goal. He’s said that all year. Maybe the team had a little let down after beating Uconn. Who knows………
